A centenarian half cent coin of Strait Settlements. This coin was produced in 1883 and can be considered quit rare.

This is a one cent coin dated back in 1957 during the colonial day. We can see that its date is quit nostalgic because it was the same year as Malaya gain independence from British. The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II was engraved at the back of this coin. Actually I got this picture from the internet. However, I have the same coin with the same date in my collection.

New money come and goes. If its getting older, its can be considered as antique. Actually, it not really hard to make something antique. All we need is patience, determination, and of course those stuff that we intended to make it antique. Then, keep those stuff in a very secure place. Same goes with money.

For example, if your family have a financial problem and you keep on pushing your parent to give you money. Then, because of you are their only son/daughter, your parent give you the money. If you use the money wisely and try to take a portion of it to keep, you gonna appreciate it some years later because the money gonna have two values at that time. The first one is because its getting older, so its will become antique. The second one is because the money will have aesthetic value. The reason is, the money was given to you during hard time and your parent gave it to you because they love you. Then, you can keep this memory with the money and you can remember your parent by looking at the money when they are no longer around.

This is only as an example. Actually, there are a lot of ways to make things valuable and memorable. What is yours?
